kihikihi International Horse Trial

The Kihikihi International Horse Trial is held annually at Kihikihi (near Te Awamutu) in April, the Kihikihi International Horse Trial is one of New Zealand’s premier equestrian events.

The Kihikihi International Horse Trial is organized by Kihikihi Waikato Eventing Inc., a small team of dedicated volunteers whose focus is to run a world-class event for riders and their horses. The event runs once a year in April and is the home event of renowned FEI International Course Designer, John Nicholson.

The event started in 1997 as a national one-day event and has since grown to the international FEI-affiliated event that it is today. The Kihikihi International Horse Trial includes both international classes – CIC3*, CIC2*, CIC1* – as well as national classes – CNC1* and CNC105. The event regularly attracts entries top Australian riders as well as entries from all over New Zealand.

This year’s Kihikihi Horse Trials are to be held on the 7th, 8th & 9th April 2017.
