What is Festival One?

As a nation we are at level one, between different phases of COVID19 community transmissions and hoping we can stay here as each day we check the 1pm report to see where we are at. We are living between levels in circumstances not necessarily in our control.

Born in the summer of 2015, the festival has now run continuously for 3 strong years. Festival One is back for 2018, hitting the stage at Mystery Creek Event Centre from 29 Jan 2021 – 31 Jan 2021.

Festival One is multi-day Christian Festival held between two sites, Mystery Creek and Hartford Farmat, Hamilton on Auckland & Waikato Anniversary Weekend. Festival One has a broad range of fantastic artists, lots of opportunities for the creative arts and a few other surprises. Their goal is to create community in the church through music, art, and culture. This will be achieved through organic growth, an annually progressing teaching curriculum and outstanding music and arts.

What’s it like?

Picture this. A warm summers afternoon, sitting with a bunch of mates at the Music Box (a stage on the back of a truck) sipping on freshly squeezed OJ, listening to Strahan woo you with his silky tones. Imagine lining up with a plate, a knife and a fork, the smell of Argentinian style BBQ wafting past your nose, when a heap of fresh produce is lumped onto your plate, followed up by a nice thick cut of export quality beef. Imagine sitting in the One Arena surrounded by thousands of people, listening to some of the best theologians the world has to offer tackling some of the biggest questions in a natural, open conversation. Yeah well Festival One is something like that.

My Wristband

Each Festival attendee will have an AWOP wristband. This will be your wallet for the weekend, which vendors can simply scan and debit money from. They can be activated and topped up at The Bank. There is a small, one-off, top-up fee; we accept cash, EFTPOS and credit cards. Any money leftover on your wristbands can be refunded at the end of Festival – or frantically spent on buckets of mini-donuts. Or drop it in the container provided and Festival One will receive the leftover funds as a donation. Thank you so much in advance!

FYI, the chip in the wristband itself – it stores no personal data. It only contains the current balance of funds and the chip, that’s it. Not even your name. Way less data than even your EFTPOS card.
